Spotlight: T-1000

Amongst the drama of the departure of José Mourinho – I received my Sideshow Exculsive T-1000.   This guy has been out for a while now and I finally deceided I needed someone to partner McFarlane T-800 and the Hot Toys Endo.  Online pictures and the availability of the Exculsive version from Sideshow convinced me to try this guy out, and boy was I impressed.

Scuplting
I would say for $50 this is an impressive scuplt – the likeness to the actor Robert Patrick is excellent.  The paint job on the hair is nothing special but is works in convincing us this is hair unlike the Qui-Gon Jinn hair which looked like a plastic wig.  The paint on the eyes if you look closely enough looks like his eyes are bloodshoot.  Again, this is not enough to damage the look of the figure in anyway.  The hand scuplting here is important as one available hand is the one where he has the sharp pointy finger where he kills with.  And they are done fine.

Articulation
There are no articulation issues with this figure – in fact the head can be pushed downwards to allow the menacing stern look.  Again, excellent.

Accessories
Well the Exculsive version comes with the metal hooks – the standard version comes with the pointy finger, a number of the metal bullet wounds T-1000 gets when he’s shot, walkie talkie and a pistol.  Not much, but I wouldn’t be too disappointed.

Detail
The uniform is not perfect and fits in a way that makes the T-1000 more bulky than he really is – but this is just subtle and not hugely noticable.  I love the look of this figure and it complements any Terminator collection.

Overall
This is a fine Sideshow figure – with minor flaws that shouldn’t detract from the overall figure.  I’m tempted to give it a five stars, however it does have the mentioned issues that may concern people more than others.  Personally, I’m impressed and glad that I finally went for him.
