OK on release date I popped down to my local Virgin store (simply because it had the shortest queue) – with the school holidays this week the shopping malls were full.
Grabbed my copy of PES 2008 and took it home to test the new game out. Hours later I’m still on the computer playing (which [...]

Well I passed and then missed out on the Hot Toys Superman Returns which was really the better than the rival Medicom and DC Direct versions.
So here it is the latest pic available on the newer version – I thought Hot Toys were gonna make a silver Superman – according to their quote: -
“Shuhhhhhh……in fact, this [...]

I know I may be behind the times a bit with the sequel to God of War out since earlier on this year – but I only recently got my hands on a PS2 to play these type of games, and oh boy the one game that has impressed me on this system has been [...]

After a weekend of promise and so much hope, England’s Rugby team fail to win the World Cup and Lewis Hamilton fail in his bid to be the first Rookie to win the F1 Championship.
You got to hand it to Ferrari and Kimi for a brilliantly professional drive this afternoon – and simply based on [...]

OK – played the PC version of PES2008 demo for a number of days now (with the time expander) and starting to see more and more weaknesses in this demo. I really really hope none of these crop into the final product otherwise this year’s will be a very poor game indeed.
Speed
The core gameplay of PES [...]

OK I downloaded PES 2008 today for the PC – Didn’t think my aging laptop could handle this game being the next generation game and all. But it handles it just fine. Gameplay was smooth and graphics display was top notch.
OK so whats the big fuss about? Is this game as good as it supposed [...]

France 9 – 14 England
I don’t tend to watch much Rugby Union – but the World Cup Semi-Finals between England and France was simply unmissable.
It wasn’t a fantastic game of rugby – but it had all the drama and tension and excitment that could match anything. The French it has to be said played well [...]

OK here it is one of the first reviews of the PC version of the upcoming PES 2008 – its quite a brief review, but the video also shows a full game between Barca and Inter….
With first impression it seems to put Fifa 2008 to shame - looks like I will have to buy a dedicated PC for this [...]

“I needed to be by Roberto’s side at this very important moment. I have sung ‘La boheme” hundreds of times, and thought missing a few rehearsals wouldn’t be a tragedy.” That was Ms. Gheorghiu’s reason for missing one to many rehearsal (this time being a full orchestral rehearsal) before the Lyric Opera Chicago finally lost [...]

I’m not much of a gambler – however, in recent years I got into Texas Hold ‘Em due to the poker TV boom. I’ve tried my hand out online and to be honest I’m not very good losing about $200 so far. When playing with family and friends I’m normally the poker King. So far [...]

I’ve listened to the whole set now once over and to be perfectly honest I’m still undecided whether this is a keeper or recycle (meaning placed onto ebay).
Heres my initial thoughts: -
The Good
Jacobs’ conducting is delightful
The recitatives has alot of immagination
The Not so Good
Jacobs’ forgets this is a dramatic opera – alot of beauty but nothing [...]
