Spotlight: Hot Toys Superman Returns v2

Okay this dude came close to being my first figure of 2008 – however it turned out to be my last figure of 2007 – and what a figure this is.

Let me get one thing straight, I never liked Superman Returns the movie.  I think I attempted to watch it twice and lost interest both times and never really completed it (it was that tedious).

Nonetheless all in all I like the character Superman – and always was a fan of the Christopher Reeves Superman in the 80′s (sigh of nostalgia).  But until someone decent sixth scale company (preferrably Hot Toys) makes a Reeves Superman, I’m content with the Brandon Routh Superman they’re making. 

Now let me get one thing straight – I was at pains last year as I badly wanted a decent Superman figure, only to find that I missed out on the finest one on the market being the Hot Toys Superman.  Online this guy was going for close to $300 – silly money.  Then near the end of the year Hot Toys announced they were going to released a second version of this guy with a revised head scuplt.  There was no way I was gonna miss out on this dude the second time round, and here he is in all his glory: -

 

Now the head scuplt although looks much more human like than the version 1 scuplt – he looks less like Brandon – regardless of that he’s a fantastic looking Superman and a definate keeper.  Definately one of the best sixth scale figures out there.

The costume as you can see is immaculate, there is nothing you can fault here.  Articulation is everything you can ask from a high end figure.  If Hot Toys continue with their figures in this vein they will be THE sixth scale company in the world.
