So PES 2010 was released before the weekend – I pre ordered online and still ended up having to buy it in the shops (long story which I won’t bore you with).
So this year which game is better…? May I say there is a clear winner – I’m not going to sit on the fence [...]

Its that time of year again – the clash of the two rival ‘Soccer’ video games: Pro Evolution Soccer v EA Fifa Soccer
So who wins it this year….?
Well I purchased myself a PS3 Slim over the weekend and tested out the two demos – and here are my conclusion.
Let me put things into perspective – [...]

When I got my PSP years ago I was impressed by the graphics and the sheer playability of the device. Although the PSP was ultimately a games machine it was also sold as a multimedia device as well – with wifi to browse on the internet and UMD discs with movies on them for you [...]

OK I went out yesterday and got myself the full copy of PES 2009 – after playing the demo I had already had an insight to what this version was going to be about. After the sorry state of PES2008 last year where the game played as bad or debatable even worse than EA Fifa [...]

Played the demo for a little longer tonight and this game is growing on me more and more – I downloaded a time extender to the demo so i could have 20mins per half (yes I know a long time) but I wanted to spend as much time with the game as a possible.
Right – [...]

Ok so its only the demo – but thats all we got to work on at the moment – so here are my thoughts.
Animations – clunky and mechanical, surely by now Konami should of sorted this out. Disappointing on this aspect.
Shooting – harder, how easy it was last year was simply ridiculous. Need more time [...]

Downloading it now – so will report back once I’ve played it. Positive feedback so far from people who have played it.

Yes boys and girls that is the date for where we can all try out this year’s version of PES – I’m looking forward to it as always but I’m really not expecting an amazing improvement. I really hope Konami goes back to its roots of making an intelligent easy to play hard to master [...]

Downloaded the demo last night on my PC expecting a vast improvement on last year’s iteration and thought maybe this is a serious challenge to PES….how wrong am I for another year. For a start the ball is massive – not quite on the table football or subutteo proportions but its pretty bad. If that [...]

Its that time of year again – where the footie season starts, England still looking unconvincing on the pitch and EA and Konami are yet again lock horns again for another year to battle it out for Soccer dominance.
Do we expect anything different from previous years? Certainly I’m not expecting anything revolutionary – PES has [...]

After getting back into the PC gaming world I thought I’d write a little post on the truly great games that I have encountered over my gaming life, so here goes in no particular order: -
DOOM
Almost everyone’s introduction into the virtual reality FPS gaming world. Yes there was Wolfenstein before Doom – but this was [...]

Oh how the world has changed over the years – terrorists aren’t what they used to be – once upon time they used to hijack planes and demand to be flown to some sympathic country or take an embassy only to be smoked out and shot up several times in the head…since 9/11 we all [...]

OK on release date I popped down to my local Virgin store (simply because it had the shortest queue) – with the school holidays this week the shopping malls were full.
Grabbed my copy of PES 2008 and took it home to test the new game out. Hours later I’m still on the computer playing (which [...]

I know I may be behind the times a bit with the sequel to God of War out since earlier on this year – but I only recently got my hands on a PS2 to play these type of games, and oh boy the one game that has impressed me on this system has been [...]

OK – played the PC version of PES2008 demo for a number of days now (with the time expander) and starting to see more and more weaknesses in this demo. I really really hope none of these crop into the final product otherwise this year’s will be a very poor game indeed.
Speed
The core gameplay of PES [...]

OK I downloaded PES 2008 today for the PC – Didn’t think my aging laptop could handle this game being the next generation game and all. But it handles it just fine. Gameplay was smooth and graphics display was top notch.
OK so whats the big fuss about? Is this game as good as it supposed [...]

OK here it is one of the first reviews of the PC version of the upcoming PES 2008 – its quite a brief review, but the video also shows a full game between Barca and Inter….
With first impression it seems to put Fifa 2008 to shame - looks like I will have to buy a dedicated PC for this [...]

I got my hands on a PS2 as an interim to PS3 – basically until there are really must have games on the PS3 which isn’t available on the older machine.
I’ve never been much of a console player, but admittedly I started to enjoy the Prince of Persia series when released on the PC, this was after [...]

I grabbed myself a copy of EA’s latest take on the soccer gaming Fifa 2008. Let me put one thing clear, I was introduced into the world of football video gaming by EA, and always the game lacked millions of things that kept it from being anything like a real football game. In the early [...]

Yes, we used to say this about the EA Fifa Football series, but Konami has endeavoured to provide us with at least one release of the acclaimed Pro Evolution Soccer every year.
If I have to be brutally honest, apart from graphics, the Pro Evolution Soccer series has never really progress significantly since its first release. [...]
